Question: Can you get braces when your Wisdom Teeth haven't came in yet!?

I have to get braces, and I'm 10!. My teeth are crooked and I really think braces would be fun!. My mom says you have to wait until you're at least 12 or your Wisdom Teeth come in!. Is that true!? I'm just curious because my friend just had hers taken off and she turned 10 in November!. Her Wisdom Teeth aren't even in yet ! Thanks,

No, you don't have to wait since not everyone gets wisdom teeth!. And of the people that do, not everyone gets 4!. Your mom might be trying to save you some trouble that if you get braces now and possibly get wisdom teeth later that would cause your other permanent teeth to shift again!.

They take xrays of your mouth so they can see where the wisdom teeth will be coming in (they even show you the xray)
they can began moving teeth and straighten them before the wisdom teeth come in!. I myself have braces and when i got them on not all my teeth were in!. They just work around the tooth/teeth until its in!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Braces are NOT "fun"!. They hurt when they are adjusted and you have to deal with braces coming off and wires breaking and pinching and not being able to eat certain things!. You can get them before your wisdom teeth come in but you do need most of your adult teeth to be in!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You'll get wisdom teeth when you get older!. I was 19 when I got my first wisdom tooth, and 20 when I got my last one!. I had braces back when I was 101/2!. My sister just got her braces off a couple weeks ago and she's 14 the same age I was when I got mine off!. No that's no at all true!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
