Question: Gone against dentists orders, will he be p*ssed!!?
Hey,
I have to go to the denists in 7 days for an exstraction!. I am SCARED s*itless of dentists!.!.!.more the injection!.!. ANYWAY lasttime i went (yesterday) I walked in he asked what was worng!.!. i told him!.!. he said ntohing and looked at the tooth!.!. he said 2 lines of broken english and waved for me to go out!.!. while talking to the receptionist it turned out he booked me into have route cancal -_-!.!. I said to the nurse i didnt understand him very well and i said i thought he said a filling :|!. She said no problem and she will put on my notes id rather have an exstration!.!. NOW im scared!.!. he didnt seem the happest of dentists!.!. and im worried he will think im being 'funny' by asking the receptionist to change my treatment :| Should i be worried!? Or is this normal for patience to change there minds about route cancal!?!.!. Why would you seek treatment from a medical professional you don't understand or have trouble communicating with!? If I were you I'd pick up my dental records and go to a different dentist!.
If you need a root canal, deciding to change your treatment plan doesn't make sense, especially since you have no dental training!. Go to someone else!.

It is YOUR mouth YOUR decision! Root canals are expensive and any reasonable dentist should understand why you would change your mind!. People forget that health care professionals work FOR YOU! You have the right to decide the treatment for any problem you have!. Also there is a numbing agent they should put on your gums before any numbing shot!. I know dental care in the UK is much different than in US, but having worked as a dental hygienist for 17 years, I would suggest talking w/ the dental assistant if he has one!. Chances are if he speaks broken english & the asst!. works side by side w/ him everyday they can understand him quite well!. This may allow you to better understand the choice of treatment as well as put your concerns to rest!. If this doesn't ease your concern & the dentist has a nasty attitude, I would definitly consider changing dentists yet again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
im **** scared of dentists and had to be put to sleep i went a few days ago and just had the normal injection in my mouth!. my dental surgery is a pile of shyte aswell and dont speak english!. go back and chat with the dentist bring someone with you if you feel more at ease(or as an interpreter lol)!. you dont have to go back to this dentist you can go and register elsewhere if your are scared like me look for a dentsit that does sedation!.
I also have got to go back for root canal arghhhhhhhhh!.

usu!. dentists want to preserve your teeth as much as possible, so they'd rather do root canals than extractions (root canals also cost A LOT more)!. your dentist was prob!. just pissed that day, and that has nothing to do with you!. if he's in a good mood next time, he shoudn't be angry cause you only told the receptionist you preferred an extraction, and you didn't make her change it (your receptionist said she's going to make a note, not change the treatment)!. no one wants a root canal!. i told my dentist i preferred an extraction too, and he just smiled!. i ended up getting a root canal anyway =!.= it wasn't that bad!.!.!. felt almost the same!.

Sounds like you need a new dentist that you can communicate with better!. The worst thing, for any medical professional, is to have bad communication with their patients!. If it was me, I would try calling them or postponing your appointment until you can discuss the problem and your treatment options clearly!. That's your right as a patient!.
And anyway, if he's pissed and tries to make it hurt more, you can sue his pants off!. It's unethical on so many levels and against all the oaths we take as medical professionals!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
