Jan has some great ideas! here are some more ideas:

~Developmental problems with teeth (dentinogenises imperfecta, where a huge part of your teeth don't grow correctly, gemination, fusion, missing teeth, cysts, etc!.) They can look really interesting!

~How xrays work and using dental radiographs

~How fluoride and good diet helps to protect teeth

~The difference between plaque and calculus and how tooth decay happens

~Modern dental techniques (new methods, implants, crown-making machines, new kinds of surgery, etc!.)

~How orthodontics work, and how the bone can be removed to move the teeth where you want

~What a root canal is and what it does (a lot of people have a lot of mistaken ideas about this!)

~I think that getting real teeth would be really interesting!. Dentists and oral surgeons are actually really used to giving out extracted teeth because dental students need them during dental school!. Just ask them to sterilize a few teeth for you and do some experiments of your own!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The biology of the tooth, the different substances that make it up (pulp, dentin, enamel, cementum)!.

How the enamel is formed is kind of cool!.

How it's anchored into the jaw bone!.

The different types of teeth!.

If you could get your hands on "green teeth" - teeth that have been extracted & sterilized, you could do an experiment on the different kinds of sodas, the acids in the sodas and the effects on teeth!. Be sure and use root beer for one of them, you'll be surprised with that!.

Maybe the kinds of restorative work that can be performed on teeth to allow people to keep them!?

Eh, just some ideas that came to mind!. Nevertheless it's food for thought!.!.!.!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
