Excessive Brush and Teeth?!

Question: Excessive Brush and Teeth!?
I usually brush my teeth first thing in the morning!. I usually skip breakfast, but I try to brush them after all meals/snacks (if possible in some situations, I can't) and before bed!.

This usually makes it so that I brush my teeth at least 5 times a day!. People always tell me that I need to stop because they think this much brushing will wear down my enamel!.

But every time I got to the dentist, he and the hygienists always praise me about how great my teeth are and how clean they are!. I told my dentists that I floss at least once a day and brush at least 5 times and every time I do, I use Listerine along with brush!. He told me if I keep that up, I will be hanging on to my teeth and avoiding dental problems for a long time!.

But so many people tell me about that much brushing wearing down my enamel, that it makes me wonder!. So I want a second opinion!. What do you guys think!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hello,

You've got a very good oral hygiene! Congratulations!. If your dentist checked your teeth and everything's fine, you don't have to worry about it!.

There is also a thing called toothbrush abrasion, check the area of your teeth near the gums if it looks smooth, your teeth are fine!. But if you see a slit like thing near the gums and it is a bit sensitive to temperature changes like hot or cold drinks, then you might be over brushing your teeth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I agree with "Life rocks" Although it is good to keep such excellent oral hygiene, brushing, flossing and using mouth wash that many times a day is very obsessive, EXTREMLY obsessive!. check that out with the docs, y don't u just live a bit, brushing all day long isn't any funWww@Answer-Health@Com

it seems you have an obsessive compulsive disorder of cleaning teeth!.
go to the mental doctor!.
though cleaning teeth is important but not soooo many times
thrice a day would be more than sufficient!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Do the "other people" that you are listening to have a dental degree!?
Listen to your dentist!
You're doing a great job!

The hardest substance in the human body is tooth enamel!. A soft nylon brush will not come close to wearing it out!. Take care of those teeth!Www@Answer-Health@Com
