Question: I know I'm paranoid but help PLZ!!!!?
How come when I asked my dentist how long I had to wait to drink through a straw she said only 48 hours but people on here say you are still at risk for getting a dry socket!? Some people say its most common on 24-48 hours and others say 3-5 days!. Its been about 60 hours since my extraction and I'm still scared to drink through a straw!. I've been very paranoid about this but I still don't have a considerable amount of pain!. I cannot see the blood clot but the dentist says thats only because the extraction site is deep cause of big roots the tooth had!. is okay for me to drink from a straw yet!? Am i out of the woods for developing dry socket!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

When I had my wisdom teeth taken out he told me 2 weeks at the very most because it was such a good chance so I did the 2 weeks but he did say at the very most just go with what your dentist says she knows best!. I had 4 teeth taken out not just one so thats probably why so long for me!. But if you are worried about getting a dry socket go the 3 to 5 days!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
