What is a tooth implant?!
Question: What is a tooth implant!?
Please explain it in simple terms!. I'd like to know what it is and what happens!. Is it expensive!? Really any help that you can give me is appreciative!. Thank you in advance!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Oh my God!.!.!. This is the PERFECT question to ask me, because I need teeth implants too!. I've checked with multiple dental doctors about this

First of all, insurance DOES NOT cover much of the procedure at all - at least ours doesn't!. They classify implants as "cosmetic", which I don't think should be the case at all!.
I'm missing 3 teeth, and it will roughly cost around $20,000 to have only those 3 replaced with an implant!. I think it costs around $7,000 per tooth!.
First of all, you go to an oral surgeon and he puts the "artificial roots" up in there, so to speak!. You have to let those heal for 6 months at least!. (The actual teeth aren't on there yet - this is a multi-month process)
This step could require a "bone graf", in which he has to take some bone from another part of your mouth to put in that place so the artificial root will hold better!. This case is not common though - luckily!.
After that 6 months, you go back to the oral surgeon and he uncovers the artifical roots!.
Then, hopefully the very next day after you have them uncovered, you go to your dentist (most dentists do this part) and he puts something else up in there and that has to heal for a while too!. (I forget what he does in this phase, but the tooth still will not be on yet)
Finally, you go back to your dentist!.!.!. if everything is doing okay, he goes ahead and puts the crown (or fake tooth) on!.
The process could take up to a year, but it is definitely worth it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
