If I have tooth resorption then what are my options?!
Question: If I have tooth resorption then what are my options!?
My doctor gave me a retainer to wear at night because I grind my teeth sometimes and he think that will help it!. I'm only 25 years old!. The resorption is the result of braces!. I'm a little scared!. He told me to floss, brush them, make sure I'm not too hard on my gums and to keep current with dental work!. He also told me to keep wearing my retainer!.
I'm not sure what else I can do!. I'm kind of scared!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The roots experience resorption because they were moved so quickly during braces!. The best thing you can do is to wear your retainer and keep them in place!. They may resorb a bit more if they move quickly again!. I would not worry at all!. I see many people with root resorption, including myself, and it is never an extreme worry!. Just brush, floss, and see your dentist and hygienist regularly for cleanings and exams!. Xrays are important to see how the resorption has changed over time and the dentist will monitor it!. So just keep doing a good job with your homecare and try not to worry!! You should be just fine!Www@Answer-Health@Com
