Question: BRACES! Clear or metal!?
i am a teen and am getting braces on Monday!. Most of my friends have metal, but are there any obvious answers to why metal or clear is better!? i'll only have them on for 9 months or so!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi!. Im getting braces at the end of May and Im getting clear ones!. Between the clear and metal my ortho says theres no difference in price [im in south africa] and it doesnt make a difference to treatment time - dont believe ppl who say clear ones take longer to straighten teeth!. Be careful tho, some ceramic ones tend to stain!. Im getting the clear Radiance brand!. Each bracket is made of a polished sapphire and is guaranteed not to stain - only thing that can stain if im not careful is the elastics !.!.!. but my ortho will change them at every vsit so i dont care - they are absolutely invisible on teeth - wont look like white lumpy teeth! lol and theyre pretty bling!

Clear!. Get Invisalign!. I had them, they're just better for your teeth!.
Edit: I had metal braces and honestly they really mess up your teeth more!. Invisalign are somewhat gentler on your teeth!. Its also a faster treatment!. The more you wear metal braces, the more they pull your teeth and if you wear them too long like I did you could get tooth resorption!.
So avoid metal braces!. Invisalign ones are also better for when you have to eat, you remove them, go brush your teeth and floss and quickly put them up!. When you have metal braces, its such a hassle to keep them clean, sticky foods like gum tend to stick to your metal braces, its harder to brush around the gums!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Why would anyone do invisalign!? You wear braces for a very short time, only a few years of your life!. Why not experience something new, maybe learn something about yourself by wearing metal braces!? They don't look bad, its fun to see the changes and you might learn that nobody cares if you have braces! Same goes for clear, if your going to be a braceface do it right!
This is actually my second time, I had clear and now have metal!. I regretted the clear and always wanted metal!. I didn't wear my retainers and things moved so I got metal!. Wearing braces has changed my life, not just my teeth!.
I guess I just don't get the invalign thing!. You must have crooked teeth and you want to hide that your doing something to fix them!? Why be ashamed to wear braces!? There not uncomfortable, nobody cares or will make fun of you, and it really is a fun and neat experience to live through!. Beats just putting in trays, how boring!.

p!.s!. - You actually will gain confidence from wearing metal braces!. Something I don't think you can experience by wearign clear trays!. When you have braces you take an interest in your teeth, more so than I think just wearing trays would give you!. As you go and live life you'll realize that nobody cares that you have braces!. Trays you can take out and avoid in situations!. Braces give you confindence and makes you realize you have other qualities and they help build up those as well!. Traditional braces also makes the end result worth it, you get that big WOW! factor when they come off and thats exciting!.

invisaline only works for some (can't be gaps more than 2mm wide) gotta ask ortho
as to clear (cremetic sp!.) or metal, it really depends on you!. I have metal, but i'd rather get clear!. don't get white ones if you have yellow teeth cause they'll make your teeth look more yellow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you're only going to have them for 9 months then you may want to check and see if you qualify for Invisalign!.!.!. I'm doing Invisalign now and it's MUCH nicer than traditional metal braces!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
If by clear you mean those porcelain braces, don't do it!. i had them and they would turn orange!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
