What is the difference between lumineers and veneers?!
Question: What is the difference between lumineers and veneers!?
Answers:
Lumineers are basically, a no tooth reduction type of veneer!. Usually to do a veneer, about !.5-1mm of the lip surface of your tooth is reduced away, and the biting edge is cut down 1-1!.5mm's!. This is then replaced with your thin sliver of porcelain called a veneer!.
Of course patients love lumineers since their teeth do not need to be reduced!. But I think the concern from the dentist's standpoint is that no matter how thin they are made (and they are made THIN), at the gumline, they will create a bump that will trap food and bacteria, making them hard on your gums and possibly they will decay faster there!.
I hope that help some!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
