First braces consultation?!
Question: First braces consultation!?
What does a first braces consultation involve!? I've never had them before and I'm wondering what to expect!. Also, is this the right time to ask about the cost!? It seems like I should make sure that everything will work financially before I make another appointment!. Will the next appointment be braces!? I'm an adult and just got braces put on!. Little disappointed in my ortho but it was the only one I could go to with my dental plan!. So check your dental insurance first and where it's accepted!.
The consults are all easy!. Some places are really high tech and do CT scans for free and others are 'old school'!.
They give you a VERY basic idea of how they will fix your teeth!. Try to get their treatment plan (appliances needed, pulling out any teeth, etc) in writing so you can research at home!. This is where I screwed up and now I'm faced with having to pull ONE tooth out that I don't want to!. When you don't understand what they're talking about and they're vague in describing the process you could find yourself with surprises!.
And yes, ask for cost up front at the end of the consult!. Mine are $4100 with a dental plan (SF Bay Area California)!.
And yes, once I figured out how to pay for it they put my top braces on the very next appointment!.
Please, Please, Please have them go over the entire plan AGAIN right before they put them on so you're all on the same page!. I'm paying the price for not doing that!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is a huge pain at first, but after getting used to them then it goes okay!. Once the braces are taken off then (give you wear your retainer for at least 6 months after) you will get compliments about your straight teeth all the time (assuming they are also white)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
