All four of my wisdom teeth were impacted and I had to get them surgically removed!. I decided to get them all out at the same time in case I was afraid to go back!.

When I went to the appointment they gave me a relaxer medication by mouth first then they called me in and numbed my gums with this jelly sort of stuff and gave me shots of novacaine!. The worst part were the shots!.!.!.!. I barely felt them, but it was just nerve wracking! Once they started the anaesthesia, I woke up once during the surgery, but didn't feel a thing!!!

And I got hydrocodone pain pills for after the surgery, and I was fine!. They did make my stomack a little bit uneasy because I didn't eat before I took them, if you can just eat something soft so you do have food in your stomach! But I also layed on one side of my face with an ice pack under it and layed an ice pack on the other side of my face for almost the entire first day!. I barely had any swelling or bruising!.

I was back to work and school on that following Monday, I could have gone back on Sunday! I was just tired on the Friday I had the surgery done and the Saturday afterwards!. Rent movies and rest! Get some ice packs ready and good luck to you, you'll be fine! :-)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Relax, it sounds scarier than it sounds!. You won't feel anything!. You will feel the tugging on your tooth but there will be no pain!. The root and nerve is removed so you won't feel it!. The anesthesia is awesome, trust me, you will not feel pain!. I am afraid of dentists and had to have 4 impacted wisdom teeth removed!. I had to take antibiotics a couple of days before!. Afterwords, you will have some bleeding!. They will give you gauze to put in the areas of your mouth!. Keep ice on you cheek!. Get your Rx filled and start to take them before the anesthesia wears off!. They will probably give your Tylenol with codeine!. You'll be so psyched after it is all done!. No more tooth pain! Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

1!. Yep, they knock the hell out of you!. I'm a big guy, and just the regular stuff knocked me out cold!.

2!. Nope, see my answer to 1!.

3!. You won't feel anything, and when they wear off most of the pain will be gone!.

4!. Depends on how you take pain!. My mom got her wisdom teeth taken out (similar procedure I'm told) and went back to work the next day!. I on the other hand took a week off of school!. But I didn't exactly want to go to school!.!.!.lol!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Are you here in the United States!? They have such GREAT anesthetics now!. They don't quite put you to sleep, but you are quite happy because there's some tranquilizer in the mix!.

Then they work on you - you don't remember it - then they shoot you with the antidote to the anesthetic and you get up and walk away like nothing happened!. It's remarkable!.

Later you're going to be real sore, so they give you a prescription for heavy duty codeine - works great!. Take lots - get lots of sleep - don't worry about your work!. I bet your boss will understand if you can't get back!. Sleep and recuperation is more important!.

Good luck - I think you're going to be pleasantly surprised!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You will be able to go back to work the next day if everything goes well and depending upon what your job is!. Probably best to take one day off after the surgery just to be sure!.

I was given laughing gas and that worked great!. I was not given any pain meds!. for after the fact!. My wisdom teeth were so badly impacted they had to chop them out!.

I was about 24 at the time!. I'm guessing it won't be a big deal for a macho guy like you!. ( I'm a gal!.)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You wont even know it's happening!. You'll just remember them telling you its time to wake up!.
Afterwards, I didn't even need my pain meds!. You'll be slightly swollen for a couple days, but I'm sure you'll be able to go back to work!. I went back the school the next day with no problems!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
