Treating Thrush in the mouth of adults?!
Question: Treating Thrush in the mouth of adults!?
I've been sick since Feb!. on & off!. I am on my second round of antibiotics!. First during the second round I had a bad reaction to it so it was changed to a new drug!. It is sulfur kind!. I will be done taking it Friday!.
At first I thought this was awful dry mouth due to my meds & having a bad cold/sinus infection!. But it is getting worse!. Now it isn't only my tounge but inside my lips!.
I had thrush once before as a teen and I remember it HURT like crazy!. It hurt to even eat!. Plus the thrush was really thick!.
But I am pretty sure it is thrush!.
After reading online about treatments my dear sweet husband went to the store (it's almost 12am here) & is getting me some Gentian Violet!.
Plus the same site suggested this:
1/2 TEASPOON OF CHERRY FLAVOR MALOX AND
1/2 TEASPOON OF BENADRIL!.GARGAL 4 TIMES A DAY!.CURRED IN 2 DAYS!.NOTE: DO NOT SWALLOW MIXTURE!.
So he is getting that too!.
Does this treatment seem ok!? I want to try the rinse first since someone said that helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Genetian violet is the old standby treatment, and it still works quite well!. Maalox nor benadryl will be effective, although the maalox will coat your mouth to ease the pain it will also feed the yeastie beasties responsible!. While hubbie is at the store, get him to pick up a small bottle of listerine to sanitize your toothbrush!. Don't gargle with it as that will BURN!. Just fill a small cup and put the brush in to soak between uses!. You can also call the doctor in the AM for a script for a fungicide, either in liquid or pill form!. The pill form is a one dose, the liquid takes a few days!. The advantage to them is they don't stain the mouth, genetian violet is going to turn your mouth and teeth purple and can stain everything it touches!. It will come off the teeth, the rest of the mouth will take longer!. The other thing you need is live culture yogurt, whatever flavor you like- but organic is best!. You need to reestablish the natural bacterial balance of the mouth, yogurt is the easiest and tastiest way to do that!. It will also help soothe the mouth some!. Use a q-tip to apply the violet with, a new q-tip per spot or patch to prevent transfering it to new sites!. And don't kiss on the DH, at least not on the lips! Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
There is a really easy mixture you can get at the drs with nystatin and a few other ingredients in it to cure it!. It's sometimes called "Magic Mouthwash"!.
If you use the Gentian Violet, be very careful!. It stains everything it touches bright purple and doesn't go away for days!!!! don't get it on your teeth! :)

Thrush is caused by Candida albicans which is a fungal infection which means you need anti-fungal medication!.!.!.I would go to the doctor to get perscriptionWww@Answer-Health@Com
