I went to orthodontists today!. He wants to put a crown on two of my teeth!. I have braces so it's going to be a while!. What are they!? Does it hurt!? What do they do!? Thanks have a good day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A crown is a shell that encases the tooth to strengthen it!. If you have large fillings, teeth become susceptible to fracturing!. The crown holds the tooth together to prevent this!. You are numbed and then the tooth is shaped and impressions are taken!. A temporary crown will be placed on the tooth to protect it and to prevent any shifting of your teeth!. 2-3 weeks later the temporary is taken off and the real crown is placed on the tooth with a dental cement!.
