I had oral surgery (4 wisdom teeth)!.!.!.!.cut out this morning!. I know what I can and cant eat but what about a 1-2oz shot of liquor!? 80 proof!. I kno w/ pain med it is not recommended but its a friends 21st bday and I assumed hard alcohol would actually act more like a disinfectant!. I would only take maybe half a shot or sip on a full one over time!.
Will this cause me any complications!? Please dont leave me negative feedback on this matter!.

It is not good to mix alcohol with pain meds and especially NOT TYLENOL or anything with tylenol in it!. Avoid anything carbonated (beer and pop)!. So, not coke and rum!. Straight liquor should be ok (Can't believe I just told u this!)!. You need to take it easy though, or you will be swollen as all get out tomorrow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I wouldn't drink at this point!. Although it might act like a "disinfectant" I'd be more worried that it might irritate the sensitive tissue around the incision area!. Another danger is that after one drink you might be inclined to "celebrate" your friends birthday with "just one more"!.!.!.!.!.and then lord knows what you'd end up doing!

I've taken vicodan w/alcohol in the past but be very , very careful!. seriously, have one actual drink!.!.!.!.NO SHOTS!.!.!.only because you really have no idea what the effect is going to be for you!. Personally, I took a vicodan last night for my mouth pain (4 wisdom teeth out this week as well) and then had two small glasses of wine and felt fine!.!.!.but that was also over say five hours!? Just nurse a few all night and be extremely mindful of how you're feeling! Also, make sure that whatever anitbiotic you're taking doesn't say that you can't drink alcohol with it!. It will make you feel very sick and it will negate the antibiotic properties in the pill!.!.!.!.read that warning carefully!.
