Chipped teeth, the dentist says nothing can be done?!

Question: Chipped teeth, the dentist says nothing can be done!?
My 15 year old son has chipped two of his front teeth!. I took him to the dentist the other day and they said that they wouldn't do anything to them because of the nature of the chip and because the rest of the effected teeth are healthy!. They were quite adamant that nothing could be done without removing the nerve, and that no dentist would do this to an otherwise healthy tooth!. Is this really the only solution!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

When my son was 7 years old and had a chipped front tooth the dentist answered me in the same way, then 5 years later I happened to go to another dentist for myself!. I explained the situation of my sons tooth and he said, is your son here, bring him in and I will check!. He gave me an appointment for the week later and he rebuilt my sons tooth in 20 min!. with a laser ( I don't know the exact technical name of the instrument)!. It didn't cost much either and the result was excellent!. It lasted until he was 20 yrs old, he only had it rebuilt because it was smaller than the other tooth seeings he had grown!. Good-luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I guess it depends how bad the chips are but usually they should repair it!. Either speak to the dentist again and ask him exactly why he wont do anything and what the long term affects will be of the chip!. Also speak to another dentist and get a second opinion and ask the reasons behind the opinion!.

Myabe because your son is so young they are affraid of working on healthy teeth which may then break later on!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
