Question: Is it possible!?(braces)!?

For rubber band to rub against your enamel causing it to become sensitive!? Because i have to have these bands going across my canine teeth and it's rubbing my teeth!. Tomorrow I have to go get my teeth cleaned, and i'm afraid it will be a cavity!. But it hurts a little on both sides of my teeth!. Only when I scratch it, or eat on it!.
