What should a healthy blood clot look like after a tooth extraction?!

Question: What should a healthy blood clot look like after a tooth extraction!?
I had a bottom right molar pulled on Tuesday morning and I was wondering what the clot should look like now!? I have been doing all the things I was told to do for proper healing (no straws, i don't smoke, rinse with warm salt water, etc!.)!. I'm not in any pain, just a little soreness in my jaw but thats about it!. I am just nervous about getting a dry socket!. If anyone knows what the clot should look like now I would really appreciate it!. Also any other advice about the subject would be great too!. ThanksWww@Answer-Health@Com

I just had tooth #29 (molar on bottom right) taken out Monday afternoon!. Right now the area has smoothen out some and is a darkish pink color with hits of red and white!. I just saw the Dentist yesterday and he said it looked like it was healing nicely!.

Just to be safe, I'm avoiding food that is especially tough, hard, and extremely chewy - and rice or anything that can get caught in the space!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I hate to disagree or contradict anyone but I am pretty sure that socket wounds don't heal from the bottom up!. On the other hand dry sockets or aveolar osteitis does heal from the bottom up!. The general sequence of wound healing is as follows:
1!. engorgement of blood vessels where the PDL(ligament holding tooth in) was!.
2!. leukocyte migration and formation of fibrin layer
3!. the clot acts as a scaffold
4!.osteoblast accumulate at alveolar bone crest
5!. epithelium grows over wound margins
6!. clot organization and osteoid trabeculae extend in clot from alveolus
7!. Osteoclastic resorption from cortical margin ( this might be where you think it heals from the bottom up)
8!. socket fills with granulation tissue
9!. the surface of the extraction site is completely epitheliazed( so it looks normal from the surface)
9!. poor calcified bone fills from all side (not just the bottom, sides too)

Also as a side note, it is very hard to predict dry sockets!. The only managment is to manage pain!. Also dry sockets heal in layers from the bottom up in layers!.
10!. active bone deposition and resorption throughout entire granulation tissue!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

First ,if your following all the instructions you received after the extractions you should do just fine!. As for how the blood clot should look, it should have a dark red appearance!. Once you have a good deal of healing the socket surface will take on a white or tan appearance!. The socket heals from the bottom up!. If you want to help out the healing you need to begin taking a good multi-vitamin!. One that has vitamins: A,E,B,C,D and Zinc!.!.!.!.the druggist can suggest a good brand!. Good luck and I wish you wellWww@Answer-Health@Com
