Removable braces are just another way to straighten your teeth, it's not necessarily worse than fixed! It's exactly like it sounds - removable braces are the ones you can take out to clean, fixed ones are small metal brackets attached to your teeth holding a wire in place (they don't need the plastic bit that goes on the roof of your mouth)!.

It might be that the way your teeth are laid out, they'll just be treated more effectively with a removable appliance, but you'll have a fixed brace in the final stages of treatment!. It's best to clarify with your orthodontist what they have planned!.

As for getting used to the removable brace, it'll feel normal within a week or so! For the first day you can feel like you're talking funny or drooling a bit, but that should go away within about a day!. The important thing is to wear it as much as possible so you can get used to it and to let it do its work!. If it's hurting just now you can take some painkillers like paracetamol or ibuprofen!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's ok, you said this is the start of your treatment!? you will probalby get fixed braces soon enough!. fixed braces are those nifty little metal things you see on peoples teeth all the time!. What you ahve sounds like a retainer, which is a pain in the butt!. But dont worry, the longer you wear it the more used to it you will become, and the pain will eventually subside!.
