Five wisdom teeth?!
Question: Five wisdom teeth!?
I'm having five wisdom teeth cut out soon, which are impacted!. (yep, five) There seems to be another tooth growing on top of the other!. At first, my oral surgeon said that he didn't feel comfortable pulling the fifth just yet because it's too close to my sinuses or something!. After studying my x-rays more closely, however, he says that it's best to just go ahead and cut it out!. I was just wondering if there's a big risk of paralysis in this situation, and if paralysis occurs often!? It all seems to depend on his judgement!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I think you mean Paresthesia!.!.!. its a temporary or permanent loss of sensation in this case in your face!.
The risk of paresthesia is very slight after an extraction and you would still be able to move any muscles in your face normally you just wouldn't feel it!.
You won't have paresthesia from having upper wisdom teeth out, the risk comes from removing lower wisdom teeth!. The benefit of having them out is usually much greater than the risk!. Your oral surgeon can tell you if you are at an increased risk for any reason like having extended roots that hit the nerves in your jaw!. Again, this occurs from lower wisdom teeth not your upper!.

i don't know what to tell you i actually have 6 wisdom teeth, had an xray done a long time ago when i should have gotten them pulled and they told me i had six, well couldn't afford to have them pulled so they stayed, grew in and now my whole mouth is screwed up so i don't think you have to worry about paralysis but i would definatly have them pulled before you end up in a worse situation, if the dentist thought that it would cause that big of a threat he wouldn't do the procedureWww@Answer-Health@Com
