What is cerec?!

it's a 3D CAD/CAM program that some dentists use to make patient's crowns, onlays, veneers, etc!., instead of doing it the traditional way & sending your impressions out to a lab!. CEREC restorations are prepped, fabricated, milled, & cemented the very same dental visit - that way you don't have to wait 2 weeks to get your crown back, & you also don't have to wear a temporary crown!. it's quite convenient, & the costs are about the same!. the only thing is your restoration wouldn't have any metal to it, which may or may not be a good thing for you, depending on your bite strength/oral habits!. the CEREC uses all ceramic/porcelain materials but they're still quite strong!. i was amazed when i first saw this technology, it's pretty neat!.
