Is this another abcess?!

Question: Is this another abcess!?
When I was about 13 I got a hole in one of my molars!. It was filled and stayed fine for years, but then it fell out one day when I was about 20, then part of the tooth snapped off as well!. The dentist drilled it and filled it again, but one day I got the most unbelievable agony and a lump came up on my gum, and it turned out I had an abcess under it!. I've had the roots drilled, and had a crown put on it, but now I have another smaller lump come up beside the tooth behind it!. It's right on my jaw bone and this morning I cannot press my teeth together properly, so it must be swelling even more!. Is it the same infection, just moved along a bit!? Will it have to have a crown too!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Sounds like an abcess, they don't have to be removed and crowned as my 10yr old daughter is prone to them, antibiotics normally clear up the infection, if it keeps occuring then yes a crown probably is the best idea although I've had one under a crown and the dentist had to remove the crown!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Difficult for anyone to advise you without x-ray!.
It is possible for an abcess to return!.
It is also possible for you to have another abcess!.
You say "roots filled" I presume that means root canal!. Root canal work is not always successful and sometimes has to be done again!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi Holly

Infections can travel to other teeth that's why it is inportant that you take all the tablets to get rid of it first!. Then it will reduce futher infection on the extraction!.

Just be brave and go to the dentist!.

You could have held my hand, if I had any!?
