What's a post-core build up?!

Question: What's a post-core build up!?
My tooth with RCT treatments filling came out and the dentist said there isn't enough tooth left to just have a filling, so he's going to do a post-core build up!. What's it all about then!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
A post core build up!.!.!.

First the dentist will prep the tooth to place the 'post'!.!.!.!.
He/she will then place a metal post down into the canal (remember there is no nerve there now and it's filled with a material) and they will cement it into place!. This gives the tooth an added strength!.
Next the dentist will build up the tooth with a material so the tooth has enough structure to place a crown (or cap as some say) over the top!.

Your next procedure would be to have the tooth prepped for the crown and then go back and have the crown cemented into place!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A build up is what they do in order to be able to put a crown on your tooth!. In order to save it, once it's down to a certain point, this is necessary!. Your other option would be to have the tooth extracted, and eventually have an implant placed - in the long run, it's best to keep what tooth you have - but implants are great options if the tooth is beyond savable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Presumably it's like a cap!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
