Question: Abscess in the mouth!?
my boyfriend has had an abscess before but it never became swollen!. my boyfriend is now in pain and it has become swollen!. what can he do to get rid of the pain and to make the swelling go down!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Have your boy friend rinse often with warm salt water!.!.!.!.have him hold it in his mouth awhile!.!.!.!.Also have him place a tea bag over swollen infected area twice a day until he can get to the dentist!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
With an abscess, an antibiotic should be prescribed (usually Penicillin or Amoxicillin if the patient is not allergic) and then you have one of two options:
1!. Get a root canal and a crown!.
2!. Get the tooth extracted!.
Normally the extraction is less costly but a root canal is the best way to go because you can then keep the tooth, obviously!.
An abscess should never ever be left alone without dental care because the infection can spread to your bloodstream and you may become septic and possibly even die!.
