i actually have both!. i have a fixed retainer on my bottom teeth and a removable one for the top teeth!. I prefer the fixed retainer!. The fixed one takes a bit to get used to because it is a wire on your teeth but it is so much easier!. you dont have to take it in and out, and it cleans when you brush your teeth!. no special cleaning required!. also, the fixed one is on the back of my teeth so no one sees it!. it is a personal preference, but i would go with fixed if you have a choice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I have a permanent retainer on my bottom jaw, just behind my front teeth!. You just have to make sure you brush well there, but other than that, I usually completely forget I have it!. It's one less retainer to forget or accidentally throw away, so it's very convenient!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I have all 3, the temporary, A permanent one on top behind the front 4 teeth!. And one on the bottom behind those front 4 teeth!. After the years have gone by I am used to them, but it's important to spend extra time brushing those areas!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Well considering Im a dental asst!. student, I would have to say the regular (removable) retainer would be best, comfortable, and cleaner!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
