Getting Braces in 1 week..Any advice?!
Question: Getting Braces in 1 week!.!.Any advice!?
I am a 28 yr old female scheduled to have braces put on my teeth next week!. Is there any advice any of you who do/did have braces on can give me as for as what to expect while there for this!? Will I be in LOTS of pain on the first few days after they are put on!? I have heard so many different stories, I am just looking for any advice!. Btw, I had all 3 of my wisdom teeth out 3 weeks ago, is this as painful as that!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

No, getting braces should not be as painful as getting 3 of your wisdom teeth pulled out!. It will just feel very UNCOMFORTABLE! Your teeth will feel weird, you will be in some pain, and you should NOT eat anything besides soft, mushy foods (like mashed potatoes, soup, oatmeal)!. Take an over the counter pain killer for any pain!. The brackets will rub against your gums, they might even make your gums bleed!. Apply dental wax over them!. Dental wax is awesome for this purpose! They will probably give you some at the dental office!. My advice for you right now is: EAT ANYTHING AND EVERYTHING YOUR HEART DESIRES!!! Go ahead and get yourself some ribs, chicken, corn on the cob, anything that is hard and that will be off limits when you get braces!. Just go for it! It'll be a looong time before you're able to bite into some ribs or corn on the cob and such foods!. Take it easy otherwise!. You are one step closer to a beautiful, healthy smile! Eat right before you go to the orthodontist!. Your mouth will be very sore for several days after you get them put on and every time you get them adjusted!. Just plan to eat a lot of soft foods during that time!. I didn't think the pain was excruciating or anything, but I guess that all depends on your pain tolerance!. Towards the end of having them, they weren't sore as much or as long after an adjustment as they were at the beginning!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
The only advise I can give you is that te pain is different with each person!. MY teeth were just sore not any real pain!. Just besure you take tylenol or IB!. before you leave the house it will help!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
just be paitent dont think of pain because for my couzin she said she thought it was gonna be painful but when she came out she said it was MOSTLY painless SO BE PAITENT hope they work outWww@Answer-Health@Com
