Question: My daughter has a rare thing- no permanent tooth under her baby tooth!.!?
So they have capped it, and told me about it!. But does anyone know (before i go back there) what they might do for her when she loses the capped tooth!? Are they going to suggest to give her an implant!? Has anyone ever had this!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's more common than you think!. Chances are, it will stay in longer since there's nothing coming in under it to push it out!. Implants will probably be suggested at some point, and hopefully they will have come down in $ when she needs it!. Don't do bridge-that would require shaving down a perfectly good tooth to anchor onto!. Implants are expensive but the best way to go!. Until she's an adult, I would stick to temporary fixes (removeable retainer w/fake tooth) if she loses her baby tooth on her own!. Don't let them pull it!!! I'm wondering if it even needed a crown!? I had four teeth that had no permanent teeth behind them!. ( brother had 4 and our mom had 3)If there is no permanent tooth there will be nothing to push the baby tooth out!. I have known people to live with baby teeth their whole lives!. When I needed to have teeth pulled to make room for my braces the denist pulled mine!. She should be ok!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

My step daughter has the same thing plus crowding of her teeth they said she needed braces to re alighn her teeth and get rid of the spaces when her baby teeth fall out!. She is 18 and she still has some baby teeth!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
There's quite a lot of people going about with retained baby teeth throughout adulthood, without any problems!. It may never come out, so I would just wait & see what happens in the futureWww@Answer-Health@Com
