i just got elastics today and they hurt so much !!
how long is it going to be like this !?

Well elastic bands apply "extra" pull for teeth, to finalize teeth movment!. When i wore them, it hurt for about a week!.

They usually hurt anywhere from 2 days to 1 week!. But just try not to open your mouth as much for the first couple of days, but do try to kinda stretch them now and then to get used to them!. You should change them three times a day, or every time you eat!. And if you stop wearing them for a while, then put them on again, you will feel the pain all over again, so make sure you wear them like your supposed to!. Your treatment time, and pain will be longer!.

They should only be painful for a few days!. Your orthodontist should tell you how often he wants them changed!. I currently change mine three times a day!.

The elastics hurt for about 2 or 3 days, then you get used to them!. You should change them at least 3 times a day because they stretch out and loose their force!. Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
