Answers:
okay the main things you need to know are cleaning, color, applying the braces, tightening, types of braces, and eating!.

cleaning: a BIG pain in the booty!.you have to brush with a soft brush carefully in a circular motion for about 4 minutes, every time you eat, then you have to floss!. If you use regular floss, you have to use a floss threader to get the floss in between the wire and tooth, which can take up to 10 minutes the first time you do it!. I recommend getting a waterpik because it makes flossing a lot easier!. If you don't do all this everyday, you will get discolored teeth, which is really gross!.

color: almost every kids favorite part!. they put little rubber bands on the brackets, and you can pick any color you want, that they have anyway!. you get them changed every time you get your braces tightened (about every month to 2 months!.) I like pink and orange, but the colors is up to you! It's your mouth!

tightening: like i said, you get your braces tightened usually every 8 to 10 weeks!. it hurts, but not for long!. just take your regular headache medicine!.

applying the braces: it basically takes about an hour and a half to two hours!. sometimes they take the brackets one by one and put them on your teeth, but sometimes they put them on a clear mold thing and put all the brackets on at one time!. then they dry it with a blue ceramic light, then they put the wire through the brackets, apply the colored bands, and the with a few minor tweaks your done!.

types of braces: there are basically 5 types of braces, which are invisalign, ceramic(clear), damon, traditional, and lingual!.
Invisalign is a clear mold of your teeth that works the exact same as braces, but takes a little longer!. Ceramic is braces, but the rubber bands on the brackets i told you about earlier, they are clear!. Damon is a frictionless type of braces that is smaller and you do not have a color option!. I tis supposed to reduce pain and treatment time needed to correct teeth!. Traditional, the most common type, is the kind you mostly see on all your friends because it is the cheapest and most common type!. And finally Lingual is the kind of braces that go behind the teeth and are completely invisible, but might impair your speech at first!.

eating with braces: with braces it is important that you don't eat sugary, crunchy, or chewy foods because they can break or damage the braces!. you can eat gum, but only the sugarless kind!.

Good luck and don't forget to take you regular headache medicine to ease the pain!. Hope I helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Don't be scared, they're fine!.

Once you get them they will feel a bit tight and hurt for a while!.
You'll start to see your teeth move pretty quickly!.
Make sure you brush them well, and use mouthwash!. This helps to get rid of all the food that gets stuck in your brace!. Also look out for a brush that looks a bit like a pipe cleaner, this helps for cleaner between the braces!.
If you start to get wires jabbing into your cheek (this occasionally happens and is nothing to worry about) just call your orthodontist, and they will trim the wire for you!.
Buy some wax, normally available from the orthodontist!. This is good for putting on the brace, because at first it might rub a little!.
Hope that helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'll admit that I'm a big-time wimp about these things, but it's really nothing - you'll be fine! :) Your mouth is pretty sore a few days after you get them on, so take some Tylenol or Advil or whatever to ease the minor pain!. Eat soft foods (of course) and use some numbing gel on your gums and the top of your teeth (this stuff called OraJel is normally used on babies and toddlers but it works like a charm - I think you can get it for cheap at any drugstore)!. Actually, in my opinion, spacers hurt more than the actual braces themselves, believe it or not! It's kind of a long process, but it's really not painful hardly at all!. Just cooperate with the orthodontist (no matter how much you hate him!) and follow his instructions!. You'll be fine! Good luck! :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

it's really not that bad!. when you get them on, they hurt!. a lot!. you can't eat!. i remember sucking on cookies till i could sallow them!. after a eek or maybe 2, it won't really hurt!. you ill be able to eat and talk normal!. every month, they tighten it by putting on new rubber band around the brackets!. it will probably hurt on the second month but not after that!. Most people have to get a chain sometime in their "braces time"!. it's a chain of rubber bands that go on the brackets!. that will hurt for a few days!. for me, they made a wire chain and wrapped it around my brackets!. it hurt like crazy!. i couldn't move my mouth or a week because it was so swollen!.

whenever it hurts, take a tylenol or some other pain reliever!. usually before you go to bed

in summary!.!.!. hurts at the beginning, hurts when they put chains on it, not that bad in the endWww@Answer-Health@Com

For the first few days, they'll hurt a bit, but if you take some paracetamol or ibruprofen, you'll be fine!. It'll stop hurting after about 3 days!.
And don't listen to them when they say that you can't drink fizzy drinks or fruit juice!. Go for it as long as it's not TOO much and you brush properly!.
And use mouthwash - a lot easier than flossing ;)
Hope I helped :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had them, now i wear retainers at night, UNTILL IM 21!

It's completely fine, just slightly uncomfortable when they put them in!. Just don't worry since worrying achieves nothing!

You also won't want to smile while you've got them on, you will probably me alot more self conscious!.

Then when you get them off you will never stop smiling!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
