How do I make my gums stop growing?!

Question: How do I make my gums stop growing!?
My gums are growing onto the brackets on my braces and if I can't get them to stop then they'll have to cut them off,
The only thing they told me is to brush them good,
are there any other things I can do!?!?!?!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

First of all no one needs a hard bristle toothbrush!. I have NEVER met anyone in the dental field that does not recommend using a soft bristle toothbrush!.

You do need to have better hygieine in order to get your gums to settle down!.

I think your best bet right now would be to purchase a dental oral irrigator (waterpik!.)

http://www!.walmart!.com/catalog/product!.d!.!.!.

This can help to flush plaque out from between your teeth until your gums have shrunk enough to floss around!. When your gums are really swollen careless flossing will cause more damage and more inflammation!.

The waterpik can be filled with water or a mouthwash, but if you use a mouthwash you should run water through the unit to rinse it out afterwards!. Using a waterpik is also a bit messy because you have your mouth open and draining water the whole time you are using it!.

Never point the nozzle at your gums!. This will only damage them!. Point the nozzle where your teeth meet at a horizontal angle!. The idea is that the water goes under the gums, encircles the tooth, and is ejected along with plaque!.

You may need to have a professional dental cleaning also!. They are supposed to be done at least every six months!. If you have problems getting your gums under control you may want to go every three months until they start improving!. Then you can back off to every four months and see how that works!.

If the gums begin to be a bit healthier after using the waterpik you should try flossing!.

If you have all of this done and nothing seems to help you may just have to chalk it up to your bodies exaggerated repsonse to plaque because of high levels of hormones!.

I assume you are a teen because you have braces!. High levels of hormones in the body tend to make inflammation exaggerated!. You could have the same amount of plaque as someone who is older, but you are having a stronger reaction because of your raised hormone level!. This is the same reason pregnant women often have problems with their gums!.

I hope this helps!.!.!.that was a long one!Www@Answer-Health@Com

you need to brush better!.!.!.!.Inflamed gums are usually caused by not brushing good enough!.!.!.!.They also have special floss for people with braces!.!.!.Try that also
Oh yeah and get a harder tooth brush!.!.!.Soft brissles never do the trickWww@Answer-Health@Com
