Question: Am I just a big baby!?!?
I talked alitte early this morning about this abscess I got and started antibiotics Thursday night!. Well I don't know how long it usually takes to notice a difference, but I don't yet!. In fact, it seems like its getting bigger and more tender and sore!. I can't even eat!. I haven't eaten anything all day and not even hungry!. I can't close my mouth all the way w/o it being uncomfy and its just miserable!. I have an appt with the Endodontist Tues, soonest they had open and its just a consult!. The swelling is under my tongue right at the front bottom teeth!. I would think that the swelling would be going down at least a little bit by now!. But it seems to be getting bigger and sorer!. I am on cephalexin 500mg (!?) four times a day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Cephalexin (like other beta-lactamic antibiotics) is a polar molecule, which means that it takes longer to get through pus (the abscess), since pus is mainly composed of fat!.
This is why, usually, dentists prescribe antibiotics like Biaxin!. Although they kill less bacteria in the time unit, they get where they are needed way faster!.
While you wait for cephalexin to work, take ibuprofen (you can take up to 800mg 3 times a day)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
