well i went to the dentist to ask about teeth whitening

Pretty much the only over the counter whitener that works are the Crest White strips!. They work great for some people, not so great for others!. Depends on your teeth, very individual!. Many people are plenty satisfied with the results and need no further treatment!. The reason the white strips work is because it keeps the whitening agent in contact with your teeth, unlike rinses and pastes!.
If you find that you are not getting the result you want you may have to go to an "in office" bleaching, which can be expensive as they usually involve impressions and the making of custom trays!. There are also the one time bleaching - on office, that too is pricey!. So try the white strips first!. They may also make your teeth more sensitive, any bleaching has this potential!. You can use a fluoride rinse such as ACT or a toothpaste like Sensodyne to help the sensitivity (it takes time so be patient)

Crest White strips work great!. I haven't tried them because I have braces but my mom used them and they worked great! Her teeth were so much whiter!
