Question: Can i clear this mouth infection myself without visiting the dentist!?
I had a tooth removed on Friday, and there is a slight infection in the space where the tooth was taken from!. its not particularly painful but there is some gunk coming out that smellls pretty bad!. I am absolutely sick of visiting the dentist and am wondering if it is possible to clear this infection myself with salt water and/or moutwash, or if an antibiotic dressing is neededWww@Answer-Health@Com

Not something to fool around with!.!.!. it could just be blood that is causing it to look poorly and smell offensive!.!.!. but if there is any purulent discharge (puss) white, yellow, green!.!.!. and it's still painful and it feels hot and swollen!.!.!. then you likely have an infection, and the best way to treat that is through prescription antibiotics, which you need to get from your dentist!.
For now, mixing 1 tsp of salt in 250ml of warm water and stirring til dissolved and rinsing gentle with that solution, should help keep thing clean in there, rather than harsh alcohol containing mouth wash, which can irritate the area more, provoking the infection further!.
If you do let it go and you develop a Headache, fever, chills, nausea!.!.!. and your dentist is not available, then you should go to an Emergency Room or a walk-in clinic that is open, as the infection can move systemically!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can buy hydrogen peroxide (3% in the brown bottle) at your local drugstore for about $2 for a 32 ounce bottle!. Mix ? ounce hydrogen peroxide with ? ounce hot water and swirl in your mouth for about 1 minute (hydrogen peroxide is odorless and tasteless but it FOAMS and may sting your mouth a bit)!. After swirling, spit out the hydrogen peroxide (DO NOT SWALLOW) and then rinse your mouth out several times with cool water!. Do this every couple of hours to clean the infected area!.
Please be aware, that hydrogen peroxide is a debriding agent and may cause the inner lining of your mouth to slough off (shed) a bit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
