Lost a tiny blood clot from wisdom tooth *cry*?!

Question: Lost a tiny blood clot from wisdom tooth *cry*!?
its day 4 of having my wisdom teeth removed and after doing a salt water rinse a tiny blood clot came out and now im heartbroken, i have been trying to be SO careful not to lose my clots!! Is it normal to lose a little piece of one!? or should i be bracing myself for the dreaded dry socket :(
i had this great idea to first rinse with dilluted colgate peroxyl , followed by warm salt water, then finished with diluted listerine, but i think i messed up by using the peroxyl, some sites say hydrogen peroxide is good, some say its not!.!.!.dammit i am so sick feeling about losing that tiny clot!! :(Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, you are right!.!.!.they peroxyl contains peroxide which bubbles, which can dislodge the blood clot!. If you didn't lose the entire clot, you may be in the clear!.

Stick with salt water rinses only and just be careful!. You are almost past the point of getting dry socket!. If, however, you start having any pain in your jaw (down to the mid-point) or up into your ear (may even feel like an earache) see your dentist for treatment!.

Don't worry!! Treated dry socket is not that bad!.!.its putting it off that is bad!. you will have exposed nerves and they hurt!.!.!.bt get it treated and you will be fine!. YOu will know beyone a doubt if you have dry socket!.!.!.the pain is unmistakable!.!.!.!.but i think you are fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Typically, dry socket discomfort starts at day 4!. Just because you had "a tiny blood clot" doesn't necessarily you are going to have a dry socket!. Are you sure it was a clot!? Again discomfort will determine if you have dry socket!. If you are concerned, visit your dentist who extracted the tooth!. I think you over did yourself with all those rinses!. I still think the best rinse is with salt water!. Peroxyl and Listerine all helps but cost money!. Hope this helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

dont worry, just keep taking care of it and keep up the salt rinse: it's okay to lose little of your clot, by and large your gums are still healing!. Try not to over-care though, can be just as bad as no care!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I agree that you are over caring!.!.Let nature do its thing!. Do take care of it but I think your going overboard and your rinsing too much and thats why u lost the clot!.!.Relax!.!.!. hopefully it will all be okWww@Answer-Health@Com

You should call your dentist!. He will add a temporary filler to prevent dry sockets!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

dont worry theyll clot up again!.!.!.i remember getting them out!.!.!.hurt for like 6 months!.!.!.worst pain everWww@Answer-Health@Com

youre in luck, i am an intern at my husbands and his familys dentist office!.
i wont get technical with you, i will keep it as understandable as possible!.!.
it is perfectly normal to loose a small peice of your clot!.!.!.make sure that if you get food or anything that can creat a bacteria problem in your jaw, that you dont pick at it but get a toothpick or sharp tweezers and slowly and cautiously remove the problem!.
and using salt water isnt the best idea because salt can stick to the blood clot and knock it loose!.!.just use warm water!.
listerine will soften the clots and cause them to be removed!.
peroxide attacks ALL blood cells, dead or alive!.!.!.do NOT use the peroxide!.

good luck!.!.and be careful!.!.if you are still on your antibiotics or your codine/vicod start to lighten up on it!.!.itll keep your blood from thinning and will make it clot better so that it is harder to break loose!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
