Question: Dentist x-ray question!?
ok so im getting an industrial piercing today and i have to go to the orthodontist on tuesday!.will i have to take it out for an x-ray or can i keep it in!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

it depends on the type of x-ray they are taking!.
most likely unless its a pano (where the x-ray goes around your whole head) they wont have you take it out!.

Often they like all the jewellery off - earrings, piercing!.!.!.!.The metal shows on the x ray and can hide something!.
But if I were you i'd call the practice and ask them what's their opinion!.
Usually the docs like a clear picture with no jewellery, however, often the jewellery/piercing is in places that it does not disturb the whole image!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Most dentists will request you take it out!. The metal in the ring creates a "halo" effect, which distorts the images on the xray, depending upon the type of radiograph they are taking!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
