well depends you might have to wear it for a year than go back for a checkup!.
its different for everyone, but i would guess no less than 6 months!.
retainers aren't that bad though, don't sweat it! and also, it will come to a point where you just have to wear it at night!. So you may only wear it full time for about 2 months, than at night for 4Www@Answer-Health@Com

From what I understand it's best to gradually reduce the amount of wear, but for longest-lasting maintenance of your orthodontia, wear it to bed forever!. Yuck!. Sorry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
you should wear it day and night for about a year, then just wear it at night!. you should continue to wear it through your whole life because teeth are always moving, even as an adult!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
