Can a cold affect your jaw?!

Question: Can a cold affect your jaw!?
I have had a cold for the past 10 days but starting to feel like it is almost gone!. Yesterday, I bit into a Chicago style pizza that was about 1" thick!. When I bit down my jaw "popped" and I can't get it back into alignment!. Today, my teeth don't line up like they use to and my bite is off!. I can't chew anything!. What should I do!. Pain only when I try to chew!. Will it go away on it's own!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
a cold shouldn't affect your jaw in that manner!.!.!. sometimes sinusitis can refer pain into your teeth and cause what feels like a tooth ache, but to have a problem with your alignment, that comes from your temporomandibular joint and the muscles that control mandibular depression and elevation (opening and closing your mouth)!.!.!. you should see your doctor or dentist if the problem doesn't resolve on its own!.!.!. it could be a problem at that joint (the TMJ!.!.!. which is called TMJ Dysfunction) or it could have to do with those muscles (like a spasm or injury to any other muscle in your body, just on a smaller scale)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Actually - YES!. I had a rct done years ago & the dentist broke the tooth while doing so & I didn't know until after getting VERY sick (& a ridiculous amount of other dental damage done to my mouth) that the tooth stayed infected for yrs and ate a hole through my jawbone up into my sinuses!.
NOW-the hole is healed however I have constant sinus problems-allergy/cold like and whenever this happens my jaw pops out of place!.
What I do is push up under my ear lobe where I can feel the jaw bone separates - & push it back into place!. It takes a couple of trys - it hurts like hell sometimes - but its that or yet another trip to the dr!./er!.
Your sinuses are actually like a honeycomb & theres ALL KINDS of cricks & cracks that sinus build up/mucous can get into and cause some sort of infection/pressure/pain/discomfort!.
Go get a CT scan of your sinuses if you have insurance & good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

thats happen to me before it hurts a lil but it will go away after a couple of days!. but no a cold shouldnt affect your jaw!. if it doesnt feel any better then go to a doctor and have it checked out before it may get any worse!.

good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
