How bad do braces hurt?!

when you first get them on, like as soon as you leave the orthodontist, you have a terrible taste of rubber and metal in your mouth!. about half an hour later!.!. the pain starts getting bad!. its terrible to have to eat!. i lost like 3lbs the first week i had my braces!. this pain lasts about a week!.
everytime you get your braces tightened, it will hurt for 2-3 days!. luckily!.!. ill be getting mine off TOMORROW! woot woot!. good luck with yours =D
and the thing for the overbite!.!. i had a bite plate, it was like a retainer!.!. it doesnt hurt, its just difficult to eat with!. i never wore mine and my dentist just used rubber bands to pull my jaw whatever way it had to go
btw!.!. tylenol doesnt help with eating!. the best thing to do is take it before bed and when you wake up in the morning you wont be dying of painWww@Answer-Health@Com

They don't hurt when they are put on!. In fact, within a couple of hours you may feel a slight discomfort every once in awhile because of the slight pulling that the wires do!. The real pain is when you eat!. Thankfully I don't have my back molars done so I was able to chew/mush food with them and my tongue for the first 2-3 days!. After that, food became easier to eat but in smaller chunks!. I now have gotten to the point of being able to eat almost like I was before but I just got 2 teeth pulled, so I am back to eating mushy food!.
It will also hurt if you accidentally "clink" your teeth together (I did at times because of how my jaw closes but after 2 days the pain went away) and if I accidentally "clinked" them on a cup while I was taking a drink!.
It takes a little while to get used to it but you'll make it through!. I honestly thought I was going to go onto a permanent crash diet when I first tried to eat with mine on, but I got used to it quite quickly!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

they dont hurt wen they put them on but they do after you get them on and you start talking alot shortly afterwards!. and they hurt when you eat surtain foods like chicken or any thing hard!. my sister had to eat apple sauce and water for a week because her teeth hurt so bad!. but after awhile it doesnt hurt any more until they tighten them up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
it's not that bad!.!.!.!.!.i have a high pain tolerance, but i couldn't eat anything besides soft food for 2 weeks!. but then it dosn't hurt anymore!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
The first few days it hurts, A LOT! You'll get used to them in about a week!. Just take pain killers and take a very looooong nap!. That's what I did!. :DWww@Answer-Health@Com
