Okay here we go!.!.!.I have TONS of Dental Experience so I feel justified in answering!.

1!. You will probably recieve Vicodin 7!.5mg for the pain it will get rid of most of the pain, but my guess is that your jaw is going to hurt worse than where they pulled your teeth out, because your mouth was open wider than usual and longer than usual!. Try taking some Ibuprofen along with the pain killer this will help relax those muscles and help with the swelling!. But DO NOT take any more tylenol the Vicodin has Tylenol mixed in it and you don't wanna OD on tylenol!. Not a good way to go!.

2!.If they are knocking you out with general anestesia you won't be feeling any pain at all!. Most Dentist won't remove 5 teeth with out some sort of sedation!. if they don't completly knock you out they will give you IV Sedation which is liquid Valium!. Even if that's the case you won't feel anything but pressure when they are being pulled out!. You said "general anaesthesia" which to me means they will be knocking your butt out so don't worry about it!.

3!.How powerful are the painkillers, well that depends on your tolerance level for the specific pain medication, your over all body mass, and your personal reaction to opiates (which vicodin and percocet are) but over all yeah the pain killers are gonna make you loopy!. No driving on them no doing anything dangerous!.

4!. You may not wanna go back to work in 3 days, 5 teeth is a big deal and your face is going to be swollen and probably bruised up!. Give yourself 5 days minimum before heading back to work!. Ask your dentist for a work release!.

5!. You are the only one who can determine what you can eat!. There aren't any restrictions that your dentist will place on you, he may suggest you take it easy with soft foods but if you feel up to it eat whatever you want!.

6!. For the first 24 hours DO NOT gargle!. See when you get a tooth pulled it creates a little "plug" of flesh and if that "plug" gets loosened you can develop dry socket which is extremely painful and it takes it longer to heal completlely!. Do NOT suck on anything that can create pressure in your mouth this can cause the plug to fall out!. No smoking, or drinking from a straw!.

7!. The stitches they put in your mouth generally fall out on their own, but if you do have to have them removed it is completly painless!.

8!. Yes you can, you will do fine!.

Good Luck to you, and remember to follow all the directions given to you by the nurse!.

TIP After surgery your face is going to be sore the pain killers will help but to help the swelling and the jaw muscles boil an egg, once it's done wrap it in a wet washcloth and place it on the sore area!. The moist heat helps immesnly and the egg holds heat better than anything else I have ever found!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you should have all teeth out at the same time b/c you only want to get anesthesia once!. You won't remember or feel anything if you get general anesthesia!. After surgery you will be numb, but start taking the pain pills as soon as you get home to help ward off any soreness that will start after the numbing wears off and you should be fine!. I was a little bit sore, but fine as long as I took my pain meds the first couple of days!. The worst part is you feel like crap b/c you can't eat and some people get nauseous from the anesthesia!. Keep milk, yogurt, soups, protein shakes, ice cream, cottage cheese, etc on hand!. Things easily swallowed but that have protein to keep you full!. Stitches part depends, many places use dissolable stitches now!. If you have to have stitches removed it isn't painful at all!. I would say you MIGHT be able to go back to work on the 4th day, maybe!. They usually give you good pain pills, but depending on what they give you you can take either tylenol or ibuprofen in between when you take the pain pills (check to see what pain pills they give you b/c depending on what they give you, you will be able to take EITHER tylenol between pain pills OR ibuprofen)!. This will help insure you don't have pain!. Oh yeah, you can gargle with mouth open, but DO NOT swish forcefully or spit forcefully, especially the first 24-72 hours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

1!. Yes and yes!.
2!. No, you won't feel a thing!.
3!. Powerful enough that you can't drive yourself home after the surgery!.
4!. The doctor will have to decide this - but I think so!.
5!. Anything soft!. They will tell you when you can proceed to hard foods!.
6!. You might have to wait on that too, just follow their instructions!.
7!. My stitches were the dissolvable kind, so I don't know how many days you'd wait!. And if the stitches are like the kind I've had for other surgeries - you might feel a little pull, but no pain, when they take them out!.
8!. Yes!. If not, the dentist wouldn't have recommended them all at once!.

Hope this helps! After it's all over, you'll be glad (and proud) that it turned out so well!. Best wishes, Claire!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
