Question: Does it matter if a frenectomy is performed before or after braces!?
I'm about to get Invisalign to, among other things, close the gap between my two front teeth!. My dentist told me it would be a good idea to get a frenectomy done, but that it's not absolutely necessary!. I certainly don't want this gap returning after I drop $3000 to remove it so I'm pretty sure I'm going to have the procedure done!. I'm planning on letting the Invisalign do its thing, then getting the frenectomy after the gap is closed!. Does is make a difference if I do it before or after!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

I am an orthodontic assistant and in our office we usually wait to have the frenectomy done either right before or right after the braces come off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
I just had my Invisalign consultation this week and it's for the same reason as you :)
My dentist said that he would perform the frenectomy after the Invisalign, because the gap could potentially come back if I didn't get it done!. He made it sound like the 2 front teeth can move quickly!.
I swear that since I've had all 4 of my wisdom teeth pulled in December, my teeth have moved!.!.!.I'm starting to get a little gap between my bottom teeth which I never had before!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If the dentist said it can wait, then I'd go ahead and wait!. I'd say to get it done when you're finished!. It shouldn't mess with the Invisalign at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
