Answers:
I'm a dentist!.

Technically, you can't have cavities "between" teeth!.

The cavities to which you refer are properly known as cavities on "proximal" surfaces!.

We treat these by drilling (carefully) through the top edge of the tooth until we get to the decay on the proximal surface (and we must do this inside the small, dark space that is your mouth WITHOUT drilling on the adjacent tooth! Think about that next time you or someone else complains about the cost of dental work!!) That is why all cavities that are on just one proximal surface of the tooth always require two-surface fillings!.

As for looks, if composite resin is used, the filling will simply look like the tooth around it!. If amalgam (silver) is used, it won't!. Keep in mind, though, that these fillings are generally not visible except during the rare occasions when you open wide!. Even then, though, it is unlikely that no one would look!. And for those who do happen to see a silver filling, they wouldn't care!. Silver fillings are very commonplace!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
