Question: Bracessss! :|!?
im getting braces next friday and was wondering the process u have to go thru to put them on, and what stuff they give you to take home
and if the dentist gives u a list of things to eat etc
and with spacers!.!.!.!.my dentist hasnt said anything about them for me, but ive been reading all the people on this sites questions and they say they had to have spacers before there braces

ooh and do u think i should get no colours or ones with colours,

well i had braces for two years so i hope i can help!.
to put on braces, they clean off each tooth, then they put a bracket on each tooth and use a plasma light to set it in place!. then they put the wire in between the brackets and snap it in, and they tighten it to whatever you need it at!.
they usually give you a some wax for if your gums hurt, some special flossing tools, and sometimes a kind of toothbrush that can reach in places on your teeth that most other brushes can't get to!. you can also buy a sonicare electic toothbrush that works reeeeeally well!.
the orthodontist will tell you to stay away from gummy, chewy candy, and to typically stay away from popcorn and other things that will get stuck behind the brackets!.
spacers, i'm not sure because i never had them!. i guess you only have them if they need to stretch your mouth wider!.
and as for colors,
i got colors on my braces!. i changed them for the season!. haha!. but if you are getting colors, i think just blue or green is fine!.
by the way, your teeth won't hurt for the first hour, and then it'll really really hurt for at least three days!. every time they tighten the wire it'll hurt again because of the pressure on your teeth!. you'll become tolerant to the pain after a while though!.

Gluing those things on, putting in a wire, its like 1 hour or something!.!.

i woulden't think they give you a list, but they should at some point give you what not to eat, when you get your braces, you will feel about no pain (because teeth movment hasen't started straight away) the next day till 2 weeks will be the most painful during your braces!. just don't eat sticky, chewy foods, pop corn, sugary!.
call your dentist about the spaces!.

when they put them on you it takes about an hour to and hour and a half!. i did have spacers before hand!.
I think when they put the braces on you they must put some kind of glue or something on your teeth to stick all the metal bits on!.
im not sure as i couldnt see what they were doing, but you can feel it!.
it doesnt hurt at all!.!. but afterwards, i found it painful to eat hard food for about a week!.
they give you a special brush called a 'spiral brush' to put under the wire between your teeth to get out all of the food stuck in your braces, i think that is really all they give you!. (apart from toothbrush brochures)

They glue the brackets on and comes the wire!. No pain,what so ever!. however,when they start tightening them on monthly visits!.!.!.!.you will feel discomfort!.!.but it will go away!. They will tell you what you should and should not eat!.!.!. and give you something!.!. or they did me anyway,that will help when you chew on it!.to take away some of the pain from tightening!.
