A piece of my gum in my mouth is missing?!

Question: A piece of my gum in my mouth is missing!?
I went to the dentist yesterday, and he was poking around in my mouth to find what's causing my tooth pain!. I also was putting oraljel on it to help the pain!. However, last night when I brushed my teeth I noticed a little chunk of my gums missing(the pink) above the tooth that's bothering me! I didn't notice it until then, I even remember looking in the mirror at my tooth after the dentist!. I know the gum will probably never grow back, but what could of caused it!? Did he slice it accidentally and it fell off from brushing it later that evening!? Or, could Oraljel hurt gums!? Any advice will be helpful!. And it's kind of painful, and I'm not going to put oraljel on it, to make matters worse!. What else could I put on it to relieve the pain as well!? Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
DO NOT RINSE WITH PEROXIDE!.
It will cause pain after a while!.
You probably cut yourself and didnt notice it because it wasnt irritated at that time!. But now that the doctor has poked around you might notice it while you are playing around in your mouth with your tongueWww@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like receding gums and the start of gingivitis!. Increase your brushing, flossing, and get a rinse like Listerine or some other tartar and plaque preventative!. Use them at least twice a day, but preferably after every meal!. As you increase your hygiene, it should allow the tissues to heal and they will grow back!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like all you did was cut your gums some how!. Probably while eating!. The dentist poking around on your gums probably just irritated that spot a little more and made the spot show up more!. I wouldn't worry about it!. Your gum should heal up just fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Call your dentist now, and tell him you are in "pain!." Get it
fixed "now," before the weekend!. <}:-})Www@Answer-Health@Com

it's probably from smoking too much methWww@Answer-Health@Com
