Numbness in lip after wisdom tooth surgery?!

Question: Numbness in lip after wisdom tooth surgery!?
I just had surgery to remove all four of my wisdom teeth this morning from about 10-11 am!. It's 8:20 now!. Everything seems to have been going well so far!. I don't feel any pain or nausea!. But my lip is still numb!. My tongue was also numb at first but has regained most feeling (it feels a bit tingly when I wiggle it though)!. I have felt things going on in my lip a few times- it felt like blood pumping or twitching or something- and it has itched once!. But I hear that you are supposed to regain feeling, and my lower lip down through my chin area is still numb and can't feel anything!. Do things take this long normally, and if not, was the nerve damaged!? Should I call the doctor in the morning!? How long do you think this will take to get better!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's normal to still feel that from 8 - 10 hours after the procedure!. I'd say if you still feel numb in the morning, then I would call!. But I wouldn't worry just yet!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

There is a small percentage of people that experience temporary or permanent numbness to the lower lip and tongue after wisdom teeth removal!. This occurs if your lower wisdom teeth were close to the nerve that gives sensation to these areas!. Give your dentist a call in the morning if you are still numb, but I'll let you know that there really isn't anything that will be able to help with it except time!. Usually it goes away!. It can take days or months, or like I said, it could be permanent!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it's normal to have numbness but yours has gone on a bit too long!. you should have feeling back now if you only had a local anaesthetic!. sometimes you can get some odd sensations when nerves have been interferred with but not damaged!. i would give it till the morning then if it still persists i'd go see your doctorWww@Answer-Health@Com

Don't worry or even think about nerve damage at this point!. Your dentist probably just did an outstanding job of making sure you would experience no pain or discomfort for as long as possible after the procedure!.

You should just try to relax for now, and get a good night's sleep!. If the area is still numb tomorrow morning, you should call your dentist!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's normal to feel numbess afterwards!. my brother did!. when my mom got hers pulled the doctor told her it might permanently stay like that, but it didn't!. so relax and see how you feel tomorrow!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
