I have a retainer on my bottom teeth, just the front four?!

Question: I have a retainer on my bottom teeth, just the front four!?
Its a permanent retainer on my bottom!. I've had it since I was 17, now 23!. Recently my gums have started receding and honestly I take seriously good care of my teeth!. The gums are only receeding on the bottom!. Could my mouth be rejecting the retainer cuz its been in so long!? Has anyone else had this problem, what did you do!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Your gums are receding!.!. as in they are "pulling back"!?

That doesn't sound like a rejecting reaction, however it does seem like something you'd want to get checked by the orthodontist (I would suspect that if you have the permanent retainer then you'd still be in touch with the orthodontist because what if it breaks or something!?)

My experience to help you is this: I had that little bar retainer cemented to my bottom teeth too and I had the option to leave it on (age 19) but decided to have a non-permanent retainer instead!. So this information is to tell you that you could get it off if it really is a problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
