How would they remove MY wisdom teeth (all five of them)?!
Question: How would they remove MY wisdom teeth (all five of them)!?
I am so nervous!. My dentist recently told me that I have to get in touch with an oral surgeon because I need to get my wisdom teeth removed!. Apparently I have five wisdom teeth!. Three in the right spots, and then one extra just making everything worse!.
Dentist says that we can't leave them in for much longer because they will start to mess up my lower teeth!.
So how exactly will they remove them!? Cut into my gums and take them out!? Seems really intense!.
Also, do they knock you out for this, or are you just given numbers and you have to wait it out!? I think I'd rather be knocked out!. I had to get a cist removed from my mouth once, had to stay awake but got it numbed!. It wasn't too bad, but it was SO freaky!.
I don't mind needles or anything, and I can handle things like getting cavities drilled without any pain killers, it's just the cutting that kills me!

Set up a consultation with the oral surgeon to discuss the procedure!. He/she will let you know what type of extractions they will be!. Sometimes they are very simple, and sometimes difficult!. It all really depends on how they are positioned and how much bone is covering them!. You will have the option of using IV sedation, which I would highly recommend!. It doesn't actually "put you to sleep," but the medications they inject into the IV have an amnesia effect!. You'll remember walking in, and leaving!. Nothing in between!. They will inject a local anesthetic to numb your entire mouth and you will be numb for a few hours afterward!. About an hour or so after the procedure I would recommend taking Ibuprofen and Tylenol every 4 hours to get a jump start on the discomfort you may feel when the numbness wears off!. The oral surgeon will usually give you a prescription of Vicodin or another narcotic for pain if you need it!. Hope that helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com
I had three taken out and it wasn't too bad!. My oral surgeon gave me a valium and I only had a few shots!. I had a couple cut out!. Maybe the valium affected my memory, but I don't remember anything dramatic!.
Just treat it like any other appointment, eat light!. Sometimes the cutting is noisy, but as long as you're numb it should be fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pray to God! My 4 teeth were taken out years ago and I had 10 shots for that!. I was awake and they had to take one hand to hold my face while the other hand was pulling on the tooth!. Not too much fun walking out with a mouth full of blood!. It is what it is! Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
