If you have been brushing and flossing thoroughly and your gums are healthy it shouldn't hurt!. If you have been slacking and your gums are swollen they may feel a bit tender!. If they are severely inflamed and it hurts bad, you can ask the hygienist for topical anesthetic, this is the gel they use on your cheek before they give you an injection!. This can help ease the pain, but that means you really need to get your home care efforts going!. The hygienist will probably (hopefully) go over proper brushing and flossing with you!. Be sure you listen, watch, and ask questions if you don't understand!. That's what we are here for!. We want you to succeed, we don't want to punish you or make you feel dumb, we just want the best for you and to be sure you are educated about it all!. It's all for your own benefit!.

no not at all!. at least it didn't for me, it kinda tickled lol!. if u have a lot of tarter on your teeth, then u might feel a little bit of pain cuz they scrap all the tarter off!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
