I have braces!.!.!.wat kind of toothbrush would you recommend me!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Any "soft toothbrush" that is comfortable for you to use and handle!. They make tooth brushes especially for ortho work, but most use a regular soft brush!. I wouldn't advise a med or hard because you can cause more damage to your tissue, teeth, ortho brackets and wires!. You do need to take extra time to clean by flossing and brushing at least 5 minutes, 10 is better!. Also using a 45 degree angle of the brush towards the gum line is more effective to remove plaque trapped there!. You will need to pay close attention to the teeth and "especially to the tissue" to keep all areas of the mouth clean and prevent sore, swollen and bleeding gums!. When you go in for your next adjustment, ask them for a demo of how to brush and floss with braces!. They should have gone over this with you when you first got the braces placed, but you may have been too excited over your new hardware to pay attention to anything then!.

Additional information: A water pik would be of help to remove debris from the braces and in between the teeth during your treatment!. The use of an electric toothbrush can be effective, but this does not do all the work alone!. You still must check the teeth and tissue and angle the bristles at the tissue and around all sides of the brackets and bands and the teeth!. If you see bits of food or plaque that was missed after brushing, then brush again! Give your self extra time at first, you'll get the hang of it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

In reality it doesnt matter what type of toothbrush you have!. It is your technique that matters most!

Ensure you clean every tooth surface paying particular care around your gums not just on the biting surfaces!. To do this angle the bristles into where your teeth come out of the gums and this will remove any plaque trapped there!.

I would reccomend a medium stiffness brush that wont cause any excess abrasion of your teeth!.

You may wish to buy an electric toothbrush but these are a bit of a gimic!. They are really best for people who have problems with dexterity for instance some one with arthritis in their hands who finds it difficult to brush!.

hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com
