I got it once during my pregnancy years ago!. It can be due to a change in hormones, high stress, etc!.

You should continue to brush your teeth even though it hurts and your gums bleed!. Don't brush them hard, just normal!. Floss more gently than usual!.

Rinse your mouth with warm salt water or some peroxide!. Listerine can further irritate and burn your gums!. The salt water and peroxide can also irritate your gums, so only do a couple times a day!.

Cut red meat from your diet until the gingivitis heals up!. Red meat gets stuck between your teeth and breaks down quickly (rots) which will further encourage the bacteria!. If you drink soda or another sugary drink, have some water after you are done and swish around in your mouth to remove the sugars!.

If you can't clear it up on your own, see your dentist!. Your dentist will probably want to do some deep cleaning, which in some cases is necessary, but can be very expensive and painful!. You could also ask him (or your regular doctor to prescribe a mouthwash called Peridex-$10) that you would use for about a week)!.

I'm sorry you're miserable, it was the worst!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You still need to brush and floss even if it makes your gums bleed!. The listerine is good but try warm salt water rinses 3 times a day along with brushing at least twice a day(Before bedtime and after breakfast) and flossing every night before bedtime!. Try an electric toothbrush and/or a waterpick for extra help and get in to see your dentist ASAP!. They need to do quad scalings on you(also called a deep cleaning) and take x-rays to check for bone loss!. With gingivitis the bone that hold the teeth in place starts to deteriorate and left untreated will eventually result in tooth loss!. So call your dentist and make an appointment, in the meantime brush and floss really well and warm salt water rinses should help too!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

What you are describing sounds like ANUG (Acute Necrotizing Ulcerative Gingivitis)!. Basically, it's severe gingivitis!. It's caused by poor oral hygiene and stress!. What you need to do is have your teeth cleaned to flush out all the bacteria from your teeth and gums!. It may take a couple of visits!. The dentist may prescribe an antibiotic mouth rinse called Peridex to help treat the infection!. The rest is up to you!. Make sure you're brushing (with a toothbrush and toothpaste, not your finger) and flossing at least twice a day!. Using Listerine is good too!. It will be painful and your gums will bleed, but it will get better!.
Hope that helps! Good luck :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

See a dentist for a thorough cleaning of your teeth!. Follow their directions which will include flossing daily and brushing and probably the use of Listerine!. Yes, you should still brush your teeth even though it makes them bleed!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Try changing your toothbrush every month and if you floss daily you wont have gingivitis!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
