Teeth impaction surgery--any advice please?!

Question: Teeth impaction surgery--any advice please!?
Answers:
Follow the advice given by your dentist!. He knows the severity of the teeth and how difficult the procedure will be!.

If he feels he can preform the procedure, then I'm sure he can, just as most dentist do on a daily basis!. The procedure for surgical extraction of impacted 3rd molars isn't anything that your dentist can't do and hasn't done before, most patients think it's just easier and faster for the them to see an OS!.

I hate to differ with the above responder but having the teeth removed by an OS can be even more traumatic during the post operative healing, than if they were removed under local anesthetic given appropriate breaks and rest periods in between each tooth's extraction!. We happen to be much more gentle, giving the patient breaks to rest their jaw muscles!. You won't see an OS doing this, when your there you mouth is held open and the teeth are removed by the same means we use, they just don't take time doing the procedure!. The sore muscles in the jaw area is where the majority of post operative pain comes from!. Talk to your dentist, he will tell you based on your x rays which way will be the most comfortable for you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Really depends on how impacted the teeth are!. Best to pay to more to see the specialist than the general dentist because for the same procedure, you might as well get them out in half the time and with less trauma!. Less trauma will mean faster healing, less swelling and pain afterwards!. The general dentist can charge more if the procedure is more difficult anyway!. Good Luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com
