How does a mouth guard stop you from clenching/grinding your teeth & how effecti!

Question: How does a mouth guard stop you from clenching/grinding your teeth & how effective are they!?
I have felt tired for as long as I can remember (i'm 35 now!) & have spent loads of time & money trying to get to the root of the problem!. All medical explanations have been ruled out, but I recently started waking up with headaches every morning & the muscles across my shoulders & down my neck ache aswell!. I went to see my dentist & was told the headaches are caused by grinding/clenching my teeth at night - I was told years ago that my teeth show evidence of this, but nothing was done about it as I didn't have any obvious problems!. This has never been suggested as the reason behind my tiredness, but if i've been doing it for years could it be part of the problem!? Would it also cause the tension across my shoulders!? If so, how does a mouth guard work - the dentist has suggested one, but at a cost of
Answers:
Hi! I've got one, got it a year ago and it works! Cost me about the same as your estimate!.

You do clench on it to start with, but not as much as teeth to teeth, as you get used to it you stop completely!. The sleep when you've learnt to sleep with a relaxed jaw is oh so much better!

My problems were headaches!.!.!.and obviously sensitive teeth as well as getting very tiered jaws and tiredness in general!. Didn't have neck problems tough, but everyone is different!.

Do you work by a computer!? Make sure you posture is OK!. See link below!.

Other than this I would vote in favour for you getting this mouth guard!. Go for it, In my view they are really working!

EDIT:
And they are moulded after your teeth and polished into correct position in your mouth - needs to be done by dentist, they know what they're doing!. Also made in a special, hard plastic that can handle the enormous pressure grinding is!. The jaw muscles are our bodies strongest muscles - people can pull lorries with that grip!. If you have the problem, get the proper stuff to sort it out - it is worth it, promise!Www@Answer-Health@Com

The symptom needs to be explained , grinding or bighting , if bighting then one bight and you are awake , the mouth guard will stop the cutting of the tongue , that strange taste sometimes is blood , the tension is linked as you are not getting rest and fatigue is evident !. See other posts reference being held or becoming stiff , apparently linked with nacrolepsy , etc!. etc !. i THINK WE A SUB- GROUP !.Www@Answer-Health@Com
